Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth.

Teeth yellow with age – drinking tea, coffee, colas and smoking all speed up this process.

Our patient attends the practice for a short appointment with the dentist and impressions of upper and lower teeth are taken, from these impressions bleaching trays are made, the patient returns to the practice 10 days later to have the trays fitted and the bleaching solutions are then given out, always with instructions.

At this stage the patient has a shade taken of their teeth and they begin the whitening procedure. The patient wears the trays at night for 14 nights, a difference should be noticeable within a few days. This treatment will not change the colour of veneers and crowns, but it is a predictable way of whitening teeth to a desired shade.

What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding is the process of applying tooth coloured filling material to the surface of the teeth to change the overall shape, size and colour of the tooth.

Composite edge bonding is where composite is added to the edges of the tooth to make them look more uniform and repair small chips or imperfections of the teeth

Situations where composite bonding is suitable:

  • Chipped tooth
  • Cracks
  • Stains
  • General Wear
  • To improve aesthetic appearance of teeth or smile

The main benefits are:

  • No needles / Injections
  • No drilling of natural tooth structure
  • Same day result

Invisalign is designed to give you the smile you deserve.

It’s how millions of people have transformed their lives using removable, near-invisible aligners. Custom made to move your teeth little by little, each tiny shift takes you a step closer to that perfect smile. The best thing is that most people can’t even tell you are straightening your teeth and treatments are much shorter than traditional braces, often 10-20 weeks!

White Fillings

The fillings blend in with your teeth to provide you with a long term solution and affordable option with a natural tooth-like appearance. Although not as strong as amalgam fillings the cosmetic appearance with these fillings can be dramatic.

If your front teeth are stained, chipped or malaligned, veneers will give you a good life-like appearance with minimum tooth destruction. A veneer is a facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail. Veneers are made out of porcelain and are used mainly for aesthetic reasons.

Orthodontics is an important part of cosmetic dentistry. It is about the correction of mal positioned teeth, bite correction and more importantly about creating nice faces with nice smiles in them. Therefore orthodontic treatments are usually carried out by a specialist orthodontist.

A specialist orthodontic practice within the group is situated in Chippenham at Hathaway Medical Centre.

Our specialist orthodontist Dr.Mirko Barth joined the group in 2008 and has more than 36 years’ experience in the field of orthodontics. He offers NHS as well as private treatments.

Private treatments include fixed braces, ceramic braces, Damon braces, Invisalign, lingual braces and more.
